Your data, explained

Privacy Policy

This policy explains how information is handled when you use the Is My Cat Fat mobile application and this legal website.

Effective September 17, 2026 United States

1. Who we are

Ruifeng Lin (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides the Is My Cat Fat application (the “App”). Questions or privacy requests may be sent to abbyhuang@dimemarketplace.com.

2. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to information processed through the App and this legal website. It does not apply to third-party websites or services that have their own privacy policies.

3. Information we process

Information you provide

  • Cat photos. Photos you capture or select for analysis, together with image metadata supplied by your device.
  • Cat profile details. Information such as the cat’s name, age, breed, sex, activity level, and answers to wellness questions.
  • Support communications. Information you include if you contact us.

Information created when you use the App

  • Account identifier. The App creates an anonymous Supabase account identifier so scans can be kept separate and secure without requiring an email address.
  • Scan results. AI-generated observations, body-condition estimates, wellness suggestions, timestamps, and scan history.
  • Community information. If you choose “Share my score,” the cat’s name, score, and the shared scan photo(s) may appear on the public leaderboard for other signed-in users to view, like, and comment on. Sharing is opt-in; private scans stay private until you share.
  • Security and usage records. Request timestamps and related technical records used to enforce rate limits, protect the service, and troubleshoot failures.

Purchase information

If you purchase a subscription, Apple processes your payment. We and RevenueCat may receive transaction identifiers, subscription status, product purchased, renewal status, and limited device or account identifiers. We do not receive your full payment card number.

Device permissions

The App requests camera and photo-library access only so you can capture or select a cat photo. The App does not upload your entire photo library; it processes only the photo you choose or capture. On iPhone, the App may also ask for permission to track you for TikTok ad measurement, as described above.

4. How we use information

We process information to:

  • Provide AI-assisted cat body-condition estimates and wellness suggestions.
  • Store and display your scan history and private cat photos.
  • Operate subscriptions and restore eligible purchases.
  • Display a shared score and photo on the community leaderboard when you expressly opt in.
  • Secure the App, prevent abuse, enforce rate limits, and diagnose errors.
  • Respond to support, privacy, and account-deletion requests.
  • Comply with law and protect users, the Company, and the public.

5. Service providers and disclosures

We disclose information only as needed to operate the App, complete a transaction, comply with law, or protect rights and safety. Current service providers include:

  • Supabase: authentication, database hosting, private photo storage, and server functions.
  • Google Gemini: processes the selected cat photo and supplied profile details to produce the requested AI analysis.
  • RevenueCat: manages subscription status and purchase entitlements when subscriptions are enabled.
  • TikTok: if you arrived from a TikTok ad, the App may send limited measurement events (for example app open and FatCat Pro subscribe) to TikTok Events Manager so we can see whether ads worked. If you allow tracking on iPhone, this may include Apple’s advertising identifier (IDFA). Cat photos, quiz answers, and scan reports are not sent to TikTok.
  • Apple: distributes the App and processes App Store subscriptions.
  • Vercel: hosts this legal website and may process ordinary web-server logs such as IP address, browser type, and request time.

These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. Data may be processed in the United States or other countries where they operate.

We do not sell personal information for money. We do not use cat photos for targeted advertising. We may share limited advertising identifiers and in-app events with TikTok for ad measurement and optimization when you allow tracking, as described above.

6. AI processing

The selected photo and relevant cat profile details are sent to Google Gemini to generate a result. AI output can be incorrect, incomplete, or affected by fur, pose, lighting, breed, and camera angle. The App does not diagnose disease and is not a replacement for a veterinarian.

Third-party AI providers may retain or process requests as described in their applicable service terms and privacy documentation. Do not submit photos containing people, sensitive documents, or information you do not want processed for the requested analysis.

7. Storage and retention

Cat photos and completed scans are stored in private Supabase storage associated with your account. We generally retain account data, scans, photos, and security records until you delete your account or until they are no longer reasonably needed for the purposes described above. We may retain limited information longer when required by law, needed to resolve disputes, prevent fraud, or enforce agreements.

8. Your choices and rights

  • Camera and photos: change permissions in your device settings.
  • Tracking (iOS): the App may ask to track activity across other companies’ apps and websites so we can measure TikTok ads. You can Allow or Ask App Not to Track. Change this later in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • Leaderboard: a scan remains private unless you choose to share it. Sharing may publish the cat name, score, and photo to the community leaderboard.
  • Account deletion: use “Delete my account & data” in the App’s Profile screen. This deletes the account, scans, and stored photos, subject to any legally required retention.
  • Subscriptions: manage or cancel through your Apple account’s subscription settings.

Depending on your U.S. state of residence and whether applicable legal thresholds are met, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information, and to appeal a denied request. You may exercise a relevant right by emailing abbyhuang@dimemarketplace.com. We may need to verify your request. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

9. Security

We use safeguards designed to protect information, including authenticated access, database row-level security, private photo storage, and time-limited signed photo URLs. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children’s privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it as appropriate.

On iPhone, the App asks Apple for an age range—not a birthdate—after the user or a parent or guardian permits it. We use that range only to enable or keep locked the public leaderboard, likes, comments, and score sharing. Community unlocks only when Apple returns a lower age bound of at least 13. Under-13, declined, and unavailable results stay locked. Scanning and FatCat Pro remain available.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App changes. We will post the updated policy here and revise the effective date. If required by law, we will provide additional notice.
